Vocal Instructor/Conductor, Christopher L. Stephenson, returns to the community of Corpus Christi, TX. Mr. Stephenson previously resided in New Braunfels, TX, holding music positions of Artistic Director/Conductor of the New Braunfels Community Chorale and former Head Vocal Instructor of the award winning UIL 5A Choral Department of Smithson Valley High School. He has instructed the art of voice, clinician, and adjudicated in numerous cities of the State of Texas: San Antonio, Houston, New Braunfels, and the San Marcos area. He has had the privilege of working in the public school systems of North East ISD, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal ISD, Houston ISD, New Braunfels ISD, and Comal ISD. Mr. Stephenson has had the chance to work with an enormous amount of talented vocal students, in addition of worked with several extraordinary choral directors such as Ms. Jennifer Whatley, Artistic Director of the Alamo City Men's Chorale, and many more. Throughout his teaching career, students who have undergone his training have received many honors in the American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and University Interscholastic League regional and state-level competitions.
Mr. Stephenson has been under the baton of several prestigious Conductors/Choral Directors, such as Paul Salamunovich, John Rutter, Weston Nobal, Robert Page, Kenneth Fulton, James Morrow, and James Jordan. In addition, he has studied and observed such voice instructors; Professor Linda McCoy, Dr. Gary Mabry, Professor Irene Liden, Professor Richard Miller, and Dr. Helen Erwin Donath.
Mr. Stephenson's greatest honor is in studying with the great lieder interpreter and Metropolitan Opera Soprano Dr. Helen Erwin Donath. Over all the years of instruction, he credits an enormous amount of his performance success and the sole root of his instruction in proper vocal technique to Dr. Donath
