Statement:

Art is my passion and I use it to extricate, isolate and freeze in time the beauty of what I see. I put everything I have into it, and desire that the end result shows just what I mean.

Background:

I grew up in front of the camera because my father is a professional photographer (http://www.rkphotovideo.com) and started assisting him when I was ten years old. I also started drawing when I was in middle school, covering my walls with portraits of people I knew and even those of Kurt Cobain and Brad Pitt. I used to do it as a hobby up until a few years ago when I realized that it is truely my passion. I enrolled in as many photography classes as I could in college and became addicted to the darkroom. When I wasn't in the darkroom, I'd be editing my portraits in postproduction software, such as Photoshop. I'm now in Central Texas trying to network and expand my portfolio and take on clients to sell my art and get my name out there. I illustrate the world I see in other ways, too. Poetry has been part of my live for as long as I can remember. Some say actions speak louder than words, but I disagree. I can illustrate a morning sunrise as lucidly as a painter with an easel. Words can dance, once given the right metaphor. I began to write seriously when I was thirteen. I would carry around a small notebook to catalog my thoughts as I went through my day. Although they were not my best, I have four poems published, and I have one of the anthologies my first was written in.

Other:

I shoot anything, anywhere. Black and whites, color, film, digital. Postcards, calendars, any size, any fashion.
