A Soulish Hurt

It causes my soul to ache,

When I look over our land.

I see hatred among men.

It causes my soul to ache,

When I hear of war and rumors of war.

When I see mothers against their daughters,

Fathers against their sons,

It causes my soul to ache.

When I see children with not enough food to eat;

Mothers are rearing their children alone.

Father have left their homes.

It causes my soul to ache,

Airplanes fly into buildings.

There is an increase in of violence in our schools;

Love has retired from our churches.

It causes my soul to ache,

When I see how drugs and alcohol are destroying our youth.

When it seems as though injustice is on the rampage,

Touching the lives of the innocent,

It causes my soul to ache.

A soulish hurt....

Will the Child Walk

Will the child walk?

Some children crawl longer than others.

Should we rush the process?

Giving his legs time to grow stronger,

As he pulls up with those things that seem most steady.

Making his blance sure,

As someone provides support,

As they watch near-by.

As he take his first steps,

As his confidence builds,

As he sees he able,

Please give the child time;

Later he will run...
