Statement:

To capture your pets character I use chalk pastel on suede board as well as preliminary sketches and notes.  I work from photographs and like to try to meet the pet when possible, especially if local.  Meeting the pets adds much to the pet portrait, plus gives me the opportunity to hear your stories.

Background:

The pet portrait direction began when I was living out in CA working for a small pet parlor giving dogs baths.  I discovered I had remaining suede board left over from my previous custom framing job.  I had a set of pastels and put all three elements together.  It became a hit for some of the customers I washed dogs for, and my business grew from there.  That was 5 years ago.

Before this experience I attended a 4 year liberal arts college with my major focusing on Studio Art and Graphic Design.  I loved making art ever since I was very young.  I stuck with it because I have a passion for it and today, with my pet portrait art, I can share my talent with you. 

Upcoming Events:

I usually attend several of the local arts and crafts events - Stuart, Port Saint Lucie, Fort Pierce and Vero Beach
